This was field and laboratory based project. The palaeoecological evolution of the River Cam valley was established and compared with the environmental histories of similar rivers in the East Anglia.  After the field campaign during which the core of the sediments from the River Cam floodplain were taken, the deposits were analyzed in the laboratory for proxy of the environmental changes such as humidity, type of ecosystem and more generally - climate.
