The sand
The sand is one of my specialities. The sand for me is a particle (rock fragemtn) of size between 63 and 2000 micrometres. It can be transported by water and wind. Deposited it creates few milimetres to few tens of metres bodies of sediment. Looking into internal organization of the particles of sand one may infere about the transporting and depositing medium. Looking into the lithology of the discrete clasts one may establish the provenance of the deposit.
More information and photos of interesting internal structures and characteristics of sand will follow here and also on blog.
