Modelling

This colourfull map was created as a part of the project about glacigenic (deposited by the ice-sheet or its meltwater) deposits in Essex, UK. I was provided with the 3-dimensional model of the area and then I overlaid redrawn geology map. By doing that I was able to observe what types of the deposits were deposited in which position.

Blue - glacial diamict, the mixture of clay, silt sand and gravel ("stones") deposited directly by the ice of the ice-sheet.

Pink - sand and gravel, deposited by the meltwater.

What's odd - sand and gravel (pink) was deposited on top of the hills!

More information on that conundrum will follow here and also on blog...
